It was often that I sent Johanna photos like this to get any input on how to capture the likeness of her characters. This is one of my favorite pieces I made in the beginning and Candy Corn Jackie still sits in my folk art cabinet :).

I must admit I do use a lot of black underglazing and developed a love for Sgraffito. While I am far from perfect with this technique I always resort to it when I am feeling stumped on what to do with a piece.
